Thanks to PCOS…

Hi there! I’m a 38 year old 1 in 10 from Illinois. I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 24 years old. I was devastated because I did not know what it was. I still really do not know what it is and assume many do not. Either way, I thank PCOS for a few things..really. Number 1 is being able to connect to women from all over the world and not be envious of them. 2. Being able to appreciate “goals” more! 3. Being able to help others who have this disorder or affliction..whatever it is. 4. PCOS has allowed me the opportunity to do what most women can not do!! That is grow an amazing beard 😉 (I threw this one in here..it is definitely not fun I was just trying to make light of it.). With all this being said, I am childless. My husband and I have been married for 18 years and have been unable to conceive. But I am a Christian and my God tells me that I will have a child and I believe that very much. So I’m just waiting on our little miracle! I’m very glad to have found this little blog to be able to share.

  1. Thank you so much for your story.
As a former member of the medical community I had never heard of PCOS, but thanks to you and FRESHSTART PCOS…I have a better understanding of this disorder.
I also appreciate your faith in God, who can reach us in ways that supersede medical science.
    Kind regards….

  2. You’re very brave to share your story! It’s not easy hearing you have PCOS, especially when it’s the first time you’re hearing it and you have no idea what it is. I had a lump in my throat when I was told this. I saw a reflexologist regularly for months and months and took natural meds as well to help my body reduce my ovarian cysts. It helped in such a remarkable way that I was able to conceive and carry full term. I have two little girls, that at one point during marriage we thought we may never have. Maybe try alternative medicine. It worked for me. And keep holding onto your faith. I follow a different religion but also believed that God had a plan for us. And that plan works miracles when u least expect it! All the best luv! 🙂

  3. Thanks for sharing your story, it’s very inspiring, the good thing about having conditions of any kind is that there are always communities which share their thoughts and support each other. I’ve been diagnosed with pcos just few days ago.
I really really hope you can get to conceive, I think if you keep trying, you’ll end up having a baby.
Thanks so much for this post.
    Hugs!
